Hand built moon jar fired using horsehair and feather raku techniques. During the post-firing process, horsehair and feathers are placed on the hot surface where they burn and leave delicate carbon markings across the clay.

A crack traveling across the shoulder and belly of the jar has been repaired with a faux kintsugi process, referencing the Japanese practice of highlighting repair rather than hiding it. The result is a one-of-a-kind surface that celebrates both firing marks and the beauty of imperfection.
